Synonyms Interactive Matching Game

Synonyms are words that have the same or almost the same meaning. They help students avoid repeating the same word over and over, and they make writing and speaking clearer, stronger, and more interesting. For example, instead of using happy every time, a writer might choose joyful, cheerful, or content. Likewise, big can become large, huge, or gigantic, depending on the situation.
Some synonyms are close in meaning but carry slightly different tone or intensity. Scared and frightened both describe fear, but frightened often sounds stronger or more immediate.
With the Rudolph Academy Synonyms Matching Game, students build vocabulary by matching words to their synonyms and earning points for correct matches. Each round features a new set of words, instant feedback, and bonus points for strong streaks—plus an Advanced Level for a bigger challenge.
