The Two Daniels – Donovan’s two best friends at Hardcastle Middle School; they don’t take school or life seriously.
Katie – Donovan’s older sister who is expecting a baby and married to Brad who is serving in Afghanistan.
Beatrice – Brad’s dog, who moves in with the Curtis’s when Brad’s mother couldn’t handle her anymore.
Chloe – Student at the Academy who wants to have a more normal life; develops hypothesis from her experiences.
Noah – Most intelligent person at the Academy who wants to be normal and wrong about something.
Abigail – Highly competitive Academy student who is obsessed with not having to go to summer school.
Dr Schultz – School superintendent whose motto is “no screw-ups.”
Mr Osborne – Homeroom teacher as well as head of the robotics program.
Ms Bevelaqua – Math teacher at the Academy who is suspicious of Donovan’s abilities.
Gordon Korman – Author of Ungifted.
Youkilade – Name of drink Noah invented.
Salem Junior High – The archrivals of Hardcastle Middle School.
Tin Man – The name Donovan gave the robot in Robotics class.
