The Giver Crossword Puzzle

The Giver Crossword Puzzle Printable and Online

The Giver Crossword Puzzle“The Giver” is a dystopian novel written by Lois Lowry, published in 1993. It is set in a seemingly perfect and highly controlled society where pain, suffering, and emotions have been eliminated, but so have individuality, choice, and memory of the past.

The story follows Jonas, a young boy who is chosen to be the Receiver of Memory, a role that involves receiving the memories of the world’s past from the current Receiver, known as the Giver. As Jonas begins to receive these memories, he becomes aware of the pain and suffering that have been hidden from the rest of the society. He also learns about the joys, colors, and emotions that have been erased.

As Jonas gains knowledge, he starts to question the society’s values and conformity. He becomes increasingly disillusioned with the limitations imposed on people’s lives, including the practice of “release,” which he eventually discovers is a euphemism for euthanasia.

Jonas decides to escape from the community with a baby named Gabriel, who is at risk of being released due to his inability to conform. The two embark on a perilous journey to reach a place known as Elsewhere, where they hope to find freedom and a better life.

“The Giver” explores themes of individuality, memory, the consequences of a controlled society, and the importance of human emotions and experiences. It is a thought-provoking and poignant story that raises questions about the cost of a seemingly perfect world.
