3rd Grade Science Vocabulary Game
Build third-grade science vocabulary with a playful matching game. Students match science words, short definitions, and optional picture-support icons while practicing life science, habitats, life cycles, matter, properties of materials, weather, water cycle, Earth materials, fossils, forces, magnets, light, sound, simple machines, and science tools.

Teacher Use
- Post the Short URL and assignment code where students can see them.
- Have students enter the correct period so reports sort properly.
- Remind students to enter both the assignment code and period number before starting.
- Use Icons ON for support and Icons OFF later to strengthen vocabulary recall and independent reading skills.
Teacher Note:
This activity is part of the Rudolph Academy coded assignment system. No student accounts are needed. Teachers create an account, generate an assignment code, and share both the activity link and code with students. Students must enter the correct assignment code and their period number when starting the activity so their work is tracked and appears in the correct teacher dashboard reports. If no code is entered, students can still complete the activity, but their results will not be recorded in the system. Use the time, rounds, accuracy, and points shown in the report to set expectations for completion. This activity works well for classroom practice, homework, warm-up, review, or class competition.
Student Sign-In
Students can change matches until they click Check Answers. After checking a round, click Next Round to continue.
Enter your name, choose a time limit, then click Start Game.
How Scoring Works
- Click one word on the left, then click its matching meaning on the right.
- Each correct match = 1 point
- Perfect round (5/5) = +2 bonus points
- Each round draws from a 72-term 3rd Grade science vocabulary bank with Icons On / Icons Off and conflict-safe selection.
- Report shows points, accuracy, time spent, completed rounds, and perfect rounds.
